Critical Analysis of a Current Trend in Technological Communication {Google Docs}

Google Docs is defined as, “a freeware web-based office suite offered by Google within its Google Drive service. It also was a storage service but has since been replaced by Drive. It allows users to create and edit documents online while collaborating with other users live”. On the Google Docs home page, it allows you to “Meet your Drive”. My Drive is the home for all the files that you create. With Google Drive for your computer, you can sync documents from your PC to My Drive. This is considered an “open source program” because you can open it wherever you have an internet connection. This site allows you to generate and format text documents and share them with other people live. The functions with Google Docs are truly endless. Wherever you go, your drive goes with you. You can organize, edit and share it from any computer at drive.google.com, or when you’re on the go, with the Drive mobile app. Drive lets you upload photos, videos, documents, and other files that are significant to you and your daily life to Google Drive. The best part of all Drive is that it automatically saves your information for you so you will never lose your information compared to a flash drive. You get all of this with 15 GB all for free.
Many high school and college students will use this program to complete essays, spreadsheets, presentations, etc. It is a very neat tool to be on top of your game and stay organized. The best part of it all is that if you have a group project, then you can “share” the document, spreadsheet, or presentation and you can all work on it at the same time on separate computers. Google Docs simplifies the educational life that much more and relieves the stress of splitting up an assignment and working on it at separate times and any other stresses or difficulties that come about. Google Apps includes tons of serious security features precisely designed to keep your files safe, secure and protected for your use only. Your data belongs to you, and Apps tools qualify you to control it, including who you share that information with and how you share it. Google’s data center system provides remarkable security and assures reliable admittance to that data from anywhere.
                The next time you have to write an essay or present a slideshow to your office, but don’t want to spend money on a flash drive, you can use Google Docs. It’s such an easy tool with simple instructions that anyone can follow and comprehend and it helps you to get the job done. Even if your computer shuts down or restarts unexpectedly, you won’t ever lose that information because Google Docs automatically saves all of your information and data for you already. Spread the word because Google Docs is the new Microsoft Office and can make your life so much easier without all the hassle behind saving documents and buying a USB stick/flash drive. The new technology is here and is ready to be used by many of Google’s users.
